7 Passenger Vehicles: The Ultimate Review

The road is full of excellent automobile options today. Consumers have more choices than ever regarding the vehicle that they are going to choose—from sporty to compact to luxury to family-friendly. Those looking to blend convenience, hauling capability, and usability are increasingly turning to 7 passenger vehicles for their phenomenal multitasking ability. With these vehicles it is easy to take on many tasks at once, transporting several people and hauling tremendous cargo loads while still enjoying a ride that is luxurious, or even a touch sporty. Whether you have a growing family, travel a lot, or just like the idea of having plenty of room and versatility at your fingertips, choosing one of these high-demand cars is just the obvious choice.

Unlike many other types of luxury or sport vehicles, 7 passenger SUVs were designed with actual use in mind. Owners can put their vehicles to the test with marathon shopping sprees just as much as they can fold down the seats and fill the cargo space with lumber for a weekend project. The durability and dependability of these vehicles appeal to virtually the entire car consumer spectrum.

Another consideration that will obviously be on the minds of consumers as they browse their new car options is gas mileage. Prices are still staggering and consumers are looking for ways to cut back on their fuel expense, even changing up their vehicle for a model that is better on gas mileage. While many people see SUVs as the quintessential gas guzzlers, modern advancements have allowed 7 passenger cars to have great gas mileage with minimal CO2 emissions thanks to modified engines. The availability of hybrid vehicles in SUV models offers even greater fuel savings, and makes the new generation of powerhouse luxury SUVs appealing to even the most scrutinizing of consumers.

Large capacity vehicles used to be unattractive, unwieldy options that were avoided by consumers whenever possible. In today’s market, however, car shoppers are given a range of practical, durable, yet aesthetically pleasing options that offer the comfort considerations and luxurious features that consumers have come to expect.

The Ultimate Guide!

Audi Q7

Simply the name “Audi” provides an immediate nod to quality, luxury, and dependability. Offering a quiet yet highly responsive ride, the Q7 is an ideal option for families needing a high capacity vehicle but not will willing to sacrifice power, comfort, and luxury often lacking in larger vehicles. The base 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 option offers 280 horse power, and the S line offers a sharply-tuned 333 horse power engine that provides the perfect option for those looking for something sporty. The 3.0 liter turbocharged diesel V-6 is a newly reengineered model that still offers power and sport but with a much more fuel efficient rating. The Q7 offers 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. The Q7 TDI offers diesel mileage, clocking in at 19 miles per gallon city and 28 miles per gallon highway.

Along with the impressive mpg rating comes an innovative suspension system that provides a smooth, even ride, even at top speeds. A comprehensive electronic stability system prevents the Q7 from rolling in response to a collision. Even notoriously stringent safety testing by the NHTSA produced an uncompromised 5/5 rating for side impact. Such exceptional results are rarely seen in this class of vehicle.

The 2012 Q7 offers a luxurious interior with touch screen capability, electronically controlled functions, and adjustable seats to address the comfort of each passenger regardless of the configuration. With an average price of just under $47,000 the Audi Q7 is one of the highest priced luxury SUVs, but the superior performance and extensive features justify the cost for many consumers.

Volvo XC90

Consumers looking for a bargain aren’t going to find it with the $38,000 Volvo XC90, but the perks of this vehicle justify the hefty price tag. Drivers looking for power and thrill will appreciate the incredibly powerful 3.2 liter V8 engine that can accelerate the XC90 up to 60 miles per hour in less than 8 seconds. Even with this speed and power this luxury Volvo model offers uncompromising safety which earned the vehicle fantastic ratings on all NHTSA testing.

As for performance, this vehicle is equipped with a sports-tuned suspension system that allows for managed steering and enhanced control.  This suspension allows the vehicle to hug the road for spectacular control during turns and higher speed situations, but does cause some reduction in the “softness” of the feel of the ride. There are several suspension settings available that allow the driver to customize his ride comfort. This is an extremely useful feature for those that intend to use their Volvo on a variety of terrains or when traveling long distances.

The higher price of this Volvo is really justified when evaluating the interior. Supple white leather provides a pristine frame for the advanced technology of the comfort and navigation controls. These devices offer the ultimate in customization for both driver and passengers, allowing for the most indulgent and enjoyable of  rides, whether long-distance or local. Drivers who want to use the vehicle for travel or hauling will appreciate that the third row of seats completely folds down to reveal an extended cargo space.

Kia Sorento

For those consumers who don’t have luxury at the very top of their priority list but are still focused on a reliable, and attractive vehicle, Kia offers the Sorento. This vehicle offers tremendous performance blended with appealing economy and a touch of subtle sophistication. The V6 engine generates 3000 pounds of towing capacity and offers 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. At $26,000 this 7 person car is truly a great value.

Despite fears that are often held by consumers when it comes to affordable compact utility vehicles, the Sorento boasts an impressive 5/5 safety rating both in side impact and front impact testing. Consumers looking for luxury and aesthetics may be a bit let down by the interior of the Sorento, which is essentially the same generic plastic styling of all economy cars. The advanced stereo system, climate control, and double sunroof, however, ensure that the driver and passengers in this vehicle don’t feel completely deprived of travel excitement.

Dodge Durango

Thanks to high performance value, rugged durability, and power, the Durango has earned stunning popularity since its debut. Compared to similar vehicles in its class, the Dodge Durango’s 360 horse power V8 engine offers incredible power, with a V6 version providing an option for consumers that don’t need as much force but still desire the intensity of this vehicle. The simple brute force of this vehicle creates a towing capacity of up to 7,400 pounds.

The Dodge Durango was designed for long distance, frequent usage. With the capacity to travel up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas, the V6 provides an ideal option for families that enjoy frequent travel, or just want to reduce the need to stop at the gas station so frequently. In addition to this impressive gas mileage, consumers will also appreciate the comfort and usability features of the Durango. Thoughtful touches such as trailer-sway control, fog lights, air bags, and a responsive cruise control option provide stability to the drive, while options for blind spot monitoring, forward collision detection, and cross-path monitoring ensure safety and reduce strain.

It is the interior of the Durango that is really going to draw the attention of passengers, however. The back of the SUV features substantial cargo space that is made even larger when the third row of seats is fully folded down. This offers the flexibility of carrying few passengers but a tremendous load of cargo. Each passenger is afforded his own climate control options, while the driver has access to an upgraded navigation system that makes the ride more accurate without adding usability concerns. A price tag of just over $28,000 makes this luxury SUV a fantastic value.

Toyota Highlander

Once considered a bit on the “delicate” side in terms of sports utility vehicles, the Highlander has matured over the years to a new level of durability and ruggedness. Unlike some of the other SUVs in the modern market, the Highlander strives to offer versatility along with rugged looks that speak to the original intention of such vehicles. The base model of this vehicle is equipped with 187 horse power from a 2.7 liter engine. The 6-speed auto transmission is well muted with the use of a progressive shift mechanism. The mileage of the Highlander is reported at 20 miles per gallon for the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway.

Toyota paid careful attention to safety when developing the Highlander.  This year’s model offers multiple airbags as well as improved braking and handling that allow for improved control of the vehicle. Those that want to use the Highlander for travel or hauling cargo will enjoy the ability to fold the third row of seats down to open additional storage space when all seven passenger seats aren’t necessary. A touch navigation system is the main feature of the standard dashboard.

The average price of a 2012 model of the Toyota Highlander is right over $35,000, putting it on the higher side of midrange for these vehicles, but still within a range that is completely justified by the quality and luxury of the vehicle.

Whether they are looking purely for aesthetics or for functionality, consumers have a fantastic option in 7 passenger vehicles. These vehicles permit hauling of cargo, transport of several people at once, and yet still provide the comfort and convenience of smaller luxury vehicles. With modern technological advancements that permit the vehicles to operate without contributing extensively to air pollution allows for large-capacity SUVs to appeal to a wider audience than they once did. Without sacrificing performance or features, manufacturers are putting effort into creating vehicles that speak to the needs of those that need space and multiple seats but that also want a stylish and comfortable ride.

Why buy a Chevrolet Traverse?

The Chevrolet Traverse is a great option for people who want a mid-sized SUV. It ranks second among other cars in it’s class. It is very comfortable to drive, but don’t expect to get great performance from this family car. It is a family car and that is what it was designed for.

The Traverse is large and has plenty of room for seven or eight people. The kids can have their backpacks and soccer gear in the back and no one will feel crowed. It has more room then any of the other midsize crossover SUVs. Most people are surprised to find out how comfortable the third row of seats are. They are built for adults. Most other crossovers have a small third row that is comfortable for children. The interior quality is not as nice as many of the other cars in it’s class. Some people describe it as cheaply made. There is a lot of plastic.

The V6 engine is adequate, but a lot of drivers wish it had more power. But most people buy this car for the size and looks. They are not looking for power. They are usually large families who needs some extra room for the kids and the dog.

Everyone is worried about mileage and the Chevrolet Traverse brags about 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the open road. Many people complain that they do not get those numbers. The invoice ticket on them starts in the high twenties. Often Chevy has a sale or offers rebates on this model. The base model is very standard and comes with power windows, automatic transmission and front wheel drive.

There is a driver airbag, side head airbag and a side airbag. There is also an airbag for the other front passenger. People like the 4 wheel disc brakes and traction control. They feel the car has a lot of safety features. It ranks high when compared to other mid size crossovers.

The traverse comes with a three year or 36,000 miles basic warranty. There is also a five year or 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Other cars have better warranties, but this is sufficient for most people when buying a car in this price range.

This is certainly not a Suburban or a Tahoe, but for families who want room for sever or eight, it is the answer. It gets excellent safety scores and handles well on the road. It is not a minivan and does not have the sliding door on the side. But it handles as well.

The back seats are easy to put down in order to go on a camping trip for the weekend. The car looks sporty enough to take to lake and classy enough to drive to church. It is a great option because of it’s size, price and safety features.

The Traverse is certainly a car to be considered for anyone who is looking for midsized SUV. These crossovers can be seen on the road everywhere and are becoming favorites for many young families. Seniors like them also, because they can leave the back seats down and have plenty of cargo room. When they want to take a car full of grandkids, there is room for everyone.

Expect to see more of this model on the road in the future. It is a front runner in the world of cars and anyone who owns one will tell you why.
